Ring Tones and Expectations

Well, I finally got a new cell phone. Which is good because I could no longer charge my old phone unless I was physically holding it (something I'd been doin since July). But with my old AT&T service disappearing, it was time to take action.

The new phone plays Tetris which is a plus.

It also allows you to select ring tones for specific people. At first, this might sound like a fantastic option, but really, it raises a whole new load of expectations. What if you pick the wrong ring tone for someone and they are insulted. "Is that what you think of me?"

But, I found a way out of this problem, I'd ask people what they want their ring tone to be. Problem solved.

The dh threw out "I'm Too Sexy." I will enjoy explaning that one to his parents, but otherwise a perfect fit.

Of course my generic ring will be Blondie's "Call Me" - love the song!

My critique partners are "Party Started" by Pink. Because it's not a party unless they are there.

Then I asked Gena Showalter what she wanted her ring tone to be. We talk every day, so it had to be something good. "You pick."

"No, really. What do you want it to be?" I ask.

"I want to see what you come up with."

Okay, see, this is EXACTLY what I was trying to avoid.

So, help me - what's a good ring tone for Gena?
